Our piano teacher Alex, in Biggleswade, offers piano lessons in all styles of music for ages 3 and above, from beginner to very advanced. This piano teacher has a Bachelor of Music degree and a wealth of experience both teaching and performing on piano. Alex has been teaching piano lessons since 2008. With over 15 years of teaching experience, Alex guides and motivates students through a fully student-led approach, adapting easily across genres, styles, and individual paths. His lessons have a tailored, encouraging approach designed to make learning the piano practical, fun, and entirely relevant to each student’s interests. Alex focuses on the music a student loves, in order to build essential skills and exercises that keep them engaged and progressing. He works with students to deepen their understanding, explore technique and musicianship, and create a foundation that supports whatever they want to achieve in music. Depending on a student’s direction, lessons may incorporate scales, sight-reading, singing, technique exercises, songwriting, listening tasks, exam pieces, learning by ear, or rhythm and lyric work. He also supports his students with detailed notes and video demonstrations to refer too later on. Teaching is Alex’s vocation, craft, and passion. He has taught students of all ages and levels, with extensive experience in both schools and private settings. Many of his students have gone on to conservatoires in the United Kingdom and beyond, excelling in a variety of programs. For over a decade he has served as a core tutor and Programme Manager at a successful Jazz Academy in London. In addition to teaching piano and leading jazz workshops, Alex runs his own big band, had directed full-scale musical theatre productions, and has accompanied concert bands and choirs. His students have a 100% pass rate on music exams, and he also supports them in audition preparation and other assessments. Alex's goal is to inspire, support, and equip students with a deep connection to music and a robust skillset, whatever their aspirations in learning piano may be.
